Anthony Mangan is 22 years old and he comes to us from St. Vincent Parish, Syracuse!  Although he grew up in Syracuse, Anthony actually comes to FrancisCorps from St. John Fisher College in Rochester where he graduated in May earning a BS in Chemistry.  He was a very active member of the St. John Fisher Chemistry and Math Departments as tutor and mentor.  He was also involved in Katrina Relief programs, fundraising for Camp Good Days and cancer research, intramural sports, Orientation Team for new students and an actor with the Fisher Players, an on campus drama club.  Anthony will use all of his many people skills as an Assistant to the Director the Refugee Resettlement program and Asian Apostolate in Syracuse.  “The idea of integrating faith and prayer into a community of peers who were all dedicated to helping others really interested me.  Also, the Franciscan motto: ‘Preach the Gospel!  If necessary, use words!’ is one that I truly take to heart.  I believe that we best show faith and closeness to God through our actions...I look forward to bringing all of my many experiences into the FrancisCorps program.”
